In Bangladesh, Lux has been successfully seeking out new glamour icons for the Bangladeshi cultural arena. Over the years LCSS has made a dream come true for Bangladeshi girls. In 2007, the contest came with a twist, incorporating the new brand theme "Play with Beauty".

Partnered with Channel-I

Bringing in the potential of the electronic media and mobile technology, Lux partnered with "Channel-I", a local satellite channel and launched the 'Lux Channel–I Super Star' which rendered new excitement and public involvement to the quest for the latest star!

Auditions

Auditions began from 4th of July 2007 across the country. Each of these rounds was recorded and aired on television. Legendary celebrities of the performing arena - Sara Zaker, Subarna Mostafa and Tauquir Ahmed were the judges throughout this Super Star event.

Shortlisted from thousands

150 contestants were selected out of twenty five thousands applicants who thus got the chance to show their talent to the world. From there 25 semi finalists were put through extensive grooming session. The workshop was a two week affair where the girls were groomed by top fashion gurus, beauticians, TV actors and directors of the country. To enliven the "Play with Beauty theme, participants were challenged with games at the boot camp. After the end of 3 months of gruelling activities and competition, the top 10 were finally chosen. At the glittering grand finalale held on the 6 September 2007, the new and complete new Superstar – Mim – chosen by the millions of audiences across the country, through SMS, was announced to the world!
